A Grade Season Review - by Stan Carnes, A Grade Coach
History will show that in Season 2015 A Grade were last and B Grade were knocked out in the first week of the finals.
These results do not mean that our Senior Squad were bad teams. We have a lot of talented and enthusiastic players and both teams will achieve much in the next few years, but only if we do things differently next year. We made the Grand Final of the Pre-Season Trophy, the Scott Palmer trophy was a great day out which the whole Club participated in, and we have some promising players now starting to emerge.  Thomas Roe and Liam 'Chopper' Bilston were selected in the NT Schoolboys Team and Michael Killiner, Greg Swanfelds and Jet Yates were selected in the NT Mosquitoes. Outside of these events, the boys have worked hard at training with an average of 20 players attending training both nights and a lot of players showing significant improvement in B Grade.
On behalf of the playing group I'd like to wish the Junior Squads the best of luck for the Grand Finals. I'd also like to thank Dennis who looks after the bar and puts on a feed most Thursdays; our supporters who watch us every Saturday and our Managers including Sarah, Abbie, Cecily, Tammy and Riva who have worked hard each Saturday to look after the boys. Id also like to thank Fiona for taking photos each week as well. (Less of tense coach next year please). Not many Clubs have this level of support and we are lucky to have them onboard.
Ultimately, there can be no sugar-coating of these results less to say that the time for discussions around rebuilding are over and we need to focus heavily on 2016. Being more focused for a few 20 minute periods across both grades would have seen some different results so we need to now build on this and take the lessons from these events.  A survey has already been released on the Seniors Facebook Page and I'd encourage all of you to fill it in by the end of August.
See you all at the end of season dinner.
