Senior Update - from A Grade coach Stan Carnes - 2 April 2015

Congratulations to the Senior Squad for making the grand final of the pre-season competition.  After solid wins against Dragons on 14 March, and last years premiers Uni on 21 March, to allow us to play the Rabbitohs in the final. Unfortunately we were unable to continue our form, and full credit must go to Souths for a solid performance on the day. Good performances were put in during the pre-season comp by Pebbles, Greg, Rhys and Toby through each game and the squad who trained hard throughout. Despite the loss, there are a lot of things to be positive about as we move to the season proper.

During pre-season we have successfully launched a few new initiatives including the Croc App, the new Instagram account and the attendance at ARU coaching seminars.  Leading into the final, the Seniors attended an ARU session at Mararra with Mick McGripillis.  This was a first for the NTRU and also the Crocs. The Gripper is a well renowned coach who has coached Australian Barbarians and also North Sydney, and as such we would like to thank the NTRU for the opportunity to participate.

Finally, thanks to the Old Crocs who have been attending our games and following our results across Australia. We launched the Bree House on Tuesday night as a way of honouring our old boys. The House System will be divided into two houses as a way of ensuring players know the Club history and also as a way of ensuring that the players have more ownership of the off-field activities. We will launch the next house after Easter and also announce who is in each squad. On behalf of the Seniors, thanks to our old boys, sponsors and committee for their ongoing support. Have a great Easter!
