Senior Update - from A Grade coach Stan Carnes

Last month saw one of our stalwart players Jay Taaealammo aka Jay John Jack leave Darwin to commence University studies down south. On behalf of everyone in the Crocs playing group I'd like to wish him the best.

Congratulations to everyone who has recently attended training and also the Camp.  The intensity of everyone at the camp; and our attitude was outstanding ! Thanks to President Ben for the work behind the scenes in co-ordinating this in what has become a fixture of our calendar each year and to Pebbles and Brock for introducing the guys to Bogarts after the camp.  It's these sort of events which makes the Crocs a great place to be as we move towards providing the best rugby environment for players in the Territory on and off the field.

You will all be pleased to know that pre-season is now coming to an end and the first of the trials are now approaching us rapidly, so we will now focus from doing a lot of fitness to now doing some fitness and more technique work.  So with more contact work now planned for training, if you don't have a mouthguard you should start getting one made.

Success on the field will not come from a single 100% change in what we have been doing but a series of 1% changes from all of us.  In February we introduced the Croc App so that all the players and support staff are across key dates, events around the Clubhouse and any changes in training.  This means that we now have 4 communication channels: the website, the Club Facebook page, the Senior Squad Facebook page and now the App. We are the only Club in the territory to have this App, and I'd like to thank Selina for the work she has done to set this up.   Its no longer good enough to say "I don't use Facebook", or "I wasn't told", find what works for you and keep across what's happening at the club.

In addition to the trials in March, we will also be doing the first Culture session of the season on the evening of 17 March with a Company called Leading Teams.  This will be another first for the Territory so make sure you don't miss this event.  Leading Teams have worked extensively with Paul Roos, the Sydney Swans and the last 3 AFL Premiership Winners so don't waste the opportunity and come down for what will be a great night.

Finally, a big shout out to Abel Shirley who has been playing for the Junior Mozzies. Abel has been training hard with the NTRU and also played last season in the comp before Christmas, so this is a great result for his hard work.

Lets work hard and dream big. You only play once.
