In the Spotlight - Tyrone Gersch-Mizen

Tyrone Gersch-Mizen is this week's senior player in the spotlight. Tyrone is part of the new generation of Palmerston Crocs. He can play anywhere in the backline and is always one of the first players picked each week.

Started playing rugby?
When I was 14, Drew had told me I needed to play a team sport and suggested rugby, so every Friday night he would drive me to Darwin (from Jabiru) just so I could play then drive me home again. A few of my mates had heard about this and before we knew it we had a mini bus full driving in every Friday night.

Playing history?
I played up to under 17's and then was told I was good enough to just play B grade so that I didn't need to drive into Darwin every Friday. From there I played for 4 years for the Jabiru Bushratz before become a Croc.
Enjoy about playing rugby?
My favourite part about playing rugby is walking off the field knowing that I had given it my all and the person next to me had done the same.
Proudest rugby achievements? My proudest rugby moments would be winning the Bali 10s open men's comp in 2012 and getting the A grade best back for Palmerston in my first year playing As.
Favourite rugby players?
Will Genia and Quade Cooper.
Favourite rugby team?
My favourite team is the Queensland Reds.
