Last Two Rounds - Darwin Netball Senior Competition - Crocs Netball Club

Crocs A Grade again showed they are a competitive side beating Districts by fifteen goals and cementing their position in the top four. With standout performances by Nikki Symonds and newcomer Leah Robinson, this team is now a contender for the finals.

Crocs Div One Purple played the top placed Falcons last week. After a slow start and six goals down, the team stepped up and came back to win by five goals. The eleven goal turnaround was an awesome effort by all the girls, and came about with the introduction of some new combinations.
Great defence as always by Lauren Kamid and Amanda Wison, well supported by Rani Simonson in wing defence. Following last week the girls found it hard to keep up the same intensity and had a competitive game against the other Falcons side. Newcomer, Shay Warburton made an immediate impact in her first game, and scored the three votes. Going into the third quarter with an even score, Crocs rallied and got up by five goals. Looking forward to next weeks game against Pints!

Crocs Div One Teal team found themselves short by a number of players in this round and only had four from the team to take the court.  The Div two ladies came to the rescue and filled some much needed positions on the court.  It was a hard fought game but in the end the Crocs went down to Waratahs Red 46-37.
The teams following game was against Pints Dragons.  The game was a nail-biter as the scores were even most of the way through with both sides gaining a small lead at times then losing it.  In the dying minutes the Crocs turned over an amazing three centre passes from the opposition and when the final whistle went the Crocs supporters courtside had the game pegged as a win to the Crocs by one point.  Apparently this wasn't the case and the opposition had the scorecard marked in favour of their side by one point... this was a disappointment, but none the less, great effort ladies and despite the discrepancy on the scorecard it was a rewarding to watch you all fight so hard right to the end.
Crocs Div Two Teal have lost there last couple of games 14-45 against Tigers and 15-44 against Waratahs. As reported from the coach; "Even though the past couple of games have been big losses, the girls have always had fun, tried their hardest and run the game out right till the end".
Crocs Div Three proved they are a competitive team last round, only going down by two goals against a mature Northern Districts side. With goal shooter Brie Hartley absent, Cass On stepped up and took control in the goal circle taking the three points for game.  A strong game by the team, as they continue to show improvement right down the court, week after week.

Players in the top ten for their division for the Darwin Netball Association Best and Fairest.  In no particular order, Shaneen Tilmouth, Amanda Wilson, Nicole Buntine, Lauren Kamid and Nakita Gilbert.
Congratulations girls, keep up the good work.
